In mid-April, in Gia Phu commune, the atmosphere of deploying the Thong Nhat 1 Industrial Cluster project took place urgently.
On a 75ha land area, functional forces and related units are focusing on completing the final parts of site clearance work, preparing for the technical infrastructure construction phase.
The project was approved by the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee with the goal of building a synchronous and modern industrial cluster. When completed, this place will become a destination for businesses operating in the fields of processing agricultural and forestry products, food, pharmaceuticals, interior production, mechanics, electronics, garment and supporting industries.
Reporters' records show that, despite being directly affected by land acquisition, many households in Gia Phu commune still agree and support the project.
Mr. Dien Van Binh, Chang village shared that his family was recovered about 1.5 hectares of various types of land.
People basically responded to the general policy. However, we hope that functional agencies will have reasonable support policies so that people can soon stabilize their lives when resettling," Mr. Binh said.
According to a representative of the Lao Cai - Coc San Regional Construction Investment Project Management Board, the project affects 142 households. To date, all 142/142 households have had their compensation plans approved.
Mr. Pham Anh Hung - Deputy Director of the Lao Cai - Coc San Regional Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the implementation process encountered many difficulties, especially the relocation of many graves in the area. However, thanks to doing a good job of propaganda and mobilization, people have agreed and created favorable conditions for site clearance work.
We have paid money to 113 households, and the remaining cases are continuing to complete procedures. The unit is mobilizing maximum manpower, working day and night, counting and measuring during the day, completing dossiers and applying compensation prices at night. Up to now, site clearance work has basically reached about 99%," Mr. Hung informed.
Through investigation, the project is invested by Lao Cai Industrial Development Investment Joint Stock Company. Total investment of more than 860 billion VND, focusing on building a synchronous technical infrastructure system.
According to the plan, the project will include internal traffic systems, sidewalks, green trees, electricity supply, water supply, lighting, communication, along with wastewater collection and treatment systems, fire prevention and fighting... fully meeting the requirements for industrial production activities.
From the first quarter of 2025 to now, the investor and related units are completing procedures such as detailed planning, environmental impact assessment, land use purpose conversion, land acquisition and site handover.
From the first quarter of 2027, the industrial cluster will officially go into operation and exploitation. The goal is to achieve a occupancy rate of about 50% in the first year, 85% in the second year and 100% in the third year.
According to assessments by specialized agencies of Lao Cai province, with a favorable location, well-invested infrastructure, and the province's investment attraction policy, Thong Nhat 1 Industrial Cluster has many advantages to attract businesses.
The formation of the industrial cluster not only expands production space but also creates thousands of jobs, contributing to improving people's lives, promoting socio-economic development in Gia Phu area in particular and Lao Cai province in general.
