On June 11, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, most kiosks and stalls in Son La City Central Market have resumed operations after many days of "inactive labor".
Previously, since June 2, more than 100 kiosks and stalls at Son La City Central Market have simultaneously closed and stopped trading, in the context that Son La province is implementing a peak period of fighting against smuggling, counterfeit goods and trade fraud.
Mr. Doan Manh Cuong - Head of Son La City Central Market Management Board said that the market has 271 fixed sales points and more than 80 non- fixed sales points. As of June 11, about 98% of businesses at the market have reopened. Some households have closed due to family reasons or previously had decreased business revenue, so they have temporarily stopped doing business" - Mr. Cuong said.
In the past week, the Market Management Board has increased propaganda and mobilized traders to prepare full documents and invoices, publicly list prices, and ensure business conditions according to the law.
Ms. Do Thi Bich Chau - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Son La province said that the inspection work aims to detect, prevent and strictly handle acts of trading in counterfeit goods, counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, violating food safety, thereby protecting consumer rights and creating a fair competitive environment.
"The peak inspection period is an opportunity for business households to raise awareness, towards transparent, professional and sustainable business" - Ms. Chau emphasized.
According to Ms. Chau, the interdisciplinary inspection teams will continue to operate in a public, transparent and correct manner, while focusing on propaganda and legal guidance for traders on business conditions, invoices and documents, product labeling and ensuring food hygiene and safety.
