The "capital" of fake La Phu candy is gradually changing
With more than 700 production and business establishments..., La Phu craft village (An Khanh commune, Hanoi) was once considered the "capital" of counterfeit goods.
The habit of spontaneous small-scale production for many years has caused many difficulties for production and business households here in ensuring specific requirements and standards according to the provisions of law.
According to statistics, in the past three years alone, the authorities have inspected 60 facilities; prosecuted 5 cases, 9 defendants, and administratively sanctioned 55 cases with a total amount of more than 2.2 billion VND.

Faced with the above situation, in recent times, the authorities have stepped up propaganda and strictly handled violating production and business households, thanks to which the awareness of production and business households here has had positive changes.
No longer thinking about fragile, spontaneous production, facilities have voluntarily invested in large-scale production systems and ensured standards.
In addition, local authorities and Hanoi City Police also regularly listen to concerns and difficulties in the production process and work with production and business households to find solutions and orientations for sustainable development of craft villages.
As in October 2025, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung - Director of Hanoi City Police, directly inspected production facilities and business households in La Phu craft village.
At the meeting, the working group listened to the difficulties and problems in production and business activities of households, thereby advising the leaders of the Hanoi People's Committee to find solutions to remove "bottlenecks" in mechanisms and policies.

"A clean business environment is a driving force for people who make goods that meet standards and legal regulations to have better resilience. People can do business in an online environment to increase sales," said a representative of a business household in La Phu.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Giang - Vice Chairman of An Khanh Commune People's Committee, to develop sustainably, people must do business methodically, with technology and keep up with the healthy development trend of the market. Absolutely do not take advantage of the sale of goods of unknown origin, counterfeit goods, or counterfeit goods for profit.
At the same time, Mr. Giang said that to increase profits and improve the quality of goods, production and business households need to apply technology and increase labor productivity.
Although there are still certain difficulties, the clear changes in awareness and methods of production and business households in La Phu show that efforts to build a transparent and sustainable commercial environment are on the right track.
When each facility proactively invests in technology, complies with standards and accompanies the authorities in preventing counterfeit and counterfeit goods, the craft village will not only restore prestige but also create a foundation to expand the market and better exploit modern sales channels.
General tasks of craft villages in Hanoi
During a direct inspection in La Phu and working with representatives of private enterprises and business households and local authorities, Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung - Director of Hanoi City Police emphasized that focusing on environmental protection, preventing counterfeit, counterfeit and poor quality goods not only contributes to building the image of a civilized craft village and sustainable development, but also demonstrates the responsibility of each individual and production facility towards the community and society.
This is not only a requirement for La Phu but also a common task for all craft villages in Hanoi.
The Director of Hanoi City Police believes that the development of craft villages needs to be placed in a harmonious relationship between economy - environment - culture - society, towards the goal of sustainable development.
"Crafts villages can completely develop in a civilized, safe and sustainable direction. That is not only the path of economic development but also a way to protect public health, preserve the brand of traditional products of the Capital and affirm the position and identity of Hanoi - a city for peace, creativity and sustainable development, emphasized the Director of Hanoi Police.
