From brocade fabrics woven just to serve family life, up to now, the traditional weaving craft of the Thai people in Mai Chau (Phu Tho) has become a sustainable livelihood.
Cooperatives and textile and garment groups have been established, turning cultural products into valuable goods, contributing to increasing income for many households.
Ms. Kha Thi Nhua - Nhot hamlet, Mai Chau commune, shared: "We Thai women both preserve traditional culture and create many modern products that are suitable for the market".
Not only weaving dresses and clothes, people also make handbags, wallets, scarves, lockers... to serve tourists. Thanks to that, the product is easy to consume, creating more motivation for people to keep the profession.

From 2020 to present, many brocade products have been recognized with 3-star and 4-star OCOP, helping to affirm quality and expand the consumption market.
Ms. Vi Thi Oanh - Deputy Director of Chieng Chau Brocade Weaving and Service Cooperative - said that the Cooperative constantly improves designs, diversifies varieties, and promotes promotion through social networks.
Many orders from provinces, even overseas overseas Vietnamese, show the increasingly strong attraction of local handicraft products. On average, each worker earns an additional 3 - 6 million VND/month, contributing to stabilizing life.
Also from a rustic dish, sour meat of the Muong people in Muong Vang area (Lac Son commune, Phu Tho province) has become a famous OCOP specialty.
Since 2016, Ms. Bui Thi Tin's Lam Tin sour meat establishment has pioneered production in the direction of goods, building a brand, standardizing packaging and tracing the origin.
"Making traditional dishes is not only for sale, but also to preserve the flavor of our hometown," said Ms. Tin.

Currently, the facility supplies about 3,500 products to the market each month, including sour and sour meat and canned meat. After meeting 3-star OCOP standards in 2022, the product has been available at many points of sale inside and outside the province, reaching major provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh...
According to Mr. Bui Huy Nhuan - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Phu Tho province, the whole province currently has 609 OCOP products with 3 stars or more, including 503 3-star products, 100 4-star products and 6 5-star products.
To promote the movement, the province has supported promotion at 28 points of introduction and sale of OCOP products. At the same time, promote trade on on voso.vn, Postmart.vn, nongsan.phutho.gov.vn platforms, along with bringing OCOP products to participate in dozens of major fairs and events across the country.
Each year, the Department organizes 10 - 12 training courses, equipping management knowledge, marketing and digital skills for hundreds of OCOP entities. Digital transformation helps products have QR codes to trace their origin, raising consumer confidence and opening up opportunities to access a wider market.
These efforts not only raise the level of local products, but also help Phu Tho people have more stable jobs, bringing the OCOP brand of the Ancestor's land far.
