Dak Nong Department of Construction announces sand price list with record high increase

Dak Nong - The Department of Construction has just announced the price list of construction materials and materials in the area. Of which, the item with the strongest price increase is construction sand.

On June 9, information from the Dak Nong Provincial Department of Construction said that the unit had just announced the price of construction materials and materials in the area in May 2025.

Accordingly, the price of construction sand in all district and city centers of Dak Nong province is around over 1 million VND/m3. Of which, in Gia Nghia city, it ranges from 1.02 to 1.1 million VND/m3.

The highest sand price is in Dak Glong district, from 1.15 to 1.23 million VND/m3. Sand price at the production site (Krong No district) is about 800,000 VND/m3.

The average price of construction sand in Dak Nong in May 2025 is more than 1 million VND/m3, double the price announced in April 2025. In addition, some other materials also recorded a significant increase such as: commercial concrete increased by about 20%, construction stone increased by about 10%...

The Department of Construction said that the price list was announced to help relevant agencies, organizations and individuals refer to and apply when preparing investment documents for construction works.

Prices are determined based on a survey of the average local price level during the survey period, concentrated in the central areas of districts and cities.

According to the Dak Nong Provincial Department of Construction, the price list for May 2025 was issued about 2 weeks earlier than usual.

The reason is that the prices of many types of materials, especially construction sand, have started to increase sharply since mid-May. Currently, sand prices in some areas have fluctuated from 1.1 - 1.2 million VND/m3.

In Dak Nong province from the beginning of May 2025 to now, construction sand prices have not only increased to a record high but have also become scarce.

This causes a comprehensive negative impact on the Dak Nong construction industry. Especially in the context that the locality is speeding up the progress of public investment in key projects and accelerating the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

In early June 2025, the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Construction to coordinate with relevant departments and branches to assess the actual supply-demand situation.

The goal is to prevent the gap between exploitation output, actual selling price and current tax declaration data.

The Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to review and advise on adjusting the output of exploitation licenses at sand mines. Thereby, to ensure meeting market demand while still complying with regulations on resource and environmental protection.

The authorities are required to strengthen inspection and strictly handle violations in the exploitation and trading of construction sand.
