Quick customs clearance of exported agricultural products, especially durian

The Customs Department requires customs clearance on the same day for exported agricultural products, especially durian, even outside office hours.

The Customs Department has just sent a document to regional Customs Sub-Departments on the implementation of solutions to facilitate customs clearance for exported agricultural products.

Accordingly, implementing the direction of the Deputy Prime Minister in Official Dispatch No. 5903/VPCP-KTTH dated June 23, 2026 of the Government Office on the situation of the Chinese durian and lychee market in 2026 and Notice No. 361/TB-VPCP dated July 8, 2026 of the Government Office on solutions to remove difficulties in agricultural exports, to promptly support the resolution of customs clearance procedures for agricultural goods, especially durian exports at border gates.

The Customs Department requests regional Customs Sub-Departments to direct affiliated units to create maximum conditions and quickly carry out customs clearance on the same day for exported goods that are agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the area (including outside office hours); Arrange officials and civil servants to resolve customs clearance procedures and supervise exported goods outside office hours, holidays, and public holidays. Immediately resolve problems arising in the process of carrying out customs procedures for exporting goods, in case of problems beyond authority, promptly report proposals to the Customs Department for guidance.

Coordinate with warehouse and yard businesses in the border gate area to arrange locations and create conditions for the preservation and classification of businesses' goods while waiting for export, avoiding affecting the quality of exported agricultural, forestry and fishery products.

Regularly update the export situation of agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the managed area, provide information and timely recommendations to export businesses through border gates in the area. Closely coordinate with functional agencies in the area to regulate traffic for vehicles entering and leaving without congestion, affecting the progress of goods clearance.

Regularly exchange with Chinese border gate customs to promptly handle arising problems between the two sides, promptly notify Vietnamese businesses of changes in management and inspection policies of Chinese Customs to grasp information and implement correctly.

For shipments that have actually been exported out of Vietnamese territory, in cases where they do not meet the conditions for import into China, if businesses request re-import, priority is given, creating conditions to quickly resolve re-import procedures.

The Customs Department also strictly prohibits acts that cause difficulties, inconvenience, harassment, prolong customs clearance time of goods, incur costs and cause damage to businesses.
