The initiative is implemented by the Domestic Market Management and Development Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), aiming to form a data warehouse of Vietnamese agricultural products on a digital platform, serving market promotion and development.
The map will be officially launched within the framework of Vietnam Agricultural Products Week 2025, taking place on October 24-25, 2025 at 45 Trang Tien, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi. The event is considered the beginning of the formation of a data system and channel to introduce Vietnamese agricultural products nationwide, contributing to promoting, connecting consumption and affirming the position of Vietnamese agricultural products in the market.
According to the implementation plan, in the first phase, the Vietnam Agricultural Products Map will introduce a number of typical agricultural products of each province and city, representing the advantages, identity and typical economic values of the locality.
The product list is proposed by the Department of Industry and Trade of provinces and cities, on the basis of ensuring the criteria of quality, reputation and regional representation. This approach helps reflect the diverse and rich picture of Vietnamese agricultural products, while creating a foundation for expanding and perfecting the database in the following stages.
This initial selection is not only to introduce typical products, bearing the characteristics of each locality, but also to create a foundation for the process of completing and expanding national agricultural product data in the coming time.
Thereby, aiming to build a unified, updated, and transparent database of Vietnamese agricultural products to connect farmers - businesses with consumers, effectively serving the management, trade promotion and promotion of the image of Vietnamese agricultural products in both domestic and international markets.
Not only stopping at the introduction role, the Vietnam Agricultural Products Map is oriented to develop into an open search platform, providing a comprehensive information system on origin, growing areas, production processes, quality certification, as well as domestic enterprises, production cooperatives and distribution channels.
With this data source, the map is not only a promotional tool, but also plays a bridging role between manufacturers, consumers, distributors and export partners, contributing to improving competitiveness and increasing the value of Vietnamese agricultural product brands.
We expect each product appearing on the map to not only reflect quality and reputation, but also spread the cultural values, labor spirit and typical imprints of each land on the S-shaped strip of land - said a representative of the Domestic Market Management and Development Department.
The Vietnam Agricultural Products Map will be supplemented and updated regularly and is expected to become a map with valuable information, vividly reflecting the potential, advantages and identity of agricultural products in each region and region across the country. This is not only a tool for promotion and market connection but also a form of strategic communication, contributing to the spread of Vietnamese agricultural products.
