On February 6th, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vinh Long province issued Official Dispatch No. 1148/SNN&MT-BVTV to clarify information related to confirming the origin and source of ornamental flowers and plants in the province.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vinh Long province, recently, in some communes and wards, there has been a situation where people gather at commune-level People's Committee headquarters to request confirmation of the origin of ornamental flowers and plants. The reason stems from circulating information that if transporting ornamental flowers and plants without a certificate of origin will be inspected and handled for violations by functional forces.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vinh Long province affirmed that, through comparison with current legal regulations in the specialized field, there is no regulation requiring the purchase and sale, transportation of ornamental flowers and plants to be accompanied by a certificate of production origin.
The transportation of ornamental flowers and plants is currently still carried out according to general regulations on goods circulation, without requiring separate confirmation procedures from the commune-level People's Committee at this time.
Faced with the above situation, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development requests departments, agencies, branches, unions and People's Committees of communes and wards to strengthen propaganda and disseminate accurate information to people, avoid causing panic, and at the same time limit unnecessary administrative pressure for the grassroots level.
