Impressive numbers
After 6 months of implementing the television program "Anti-Scam - Protecting Users", the effectiveness has been shown through each specific number. Maintaining periodic broadcasts on VTV1 and simultaneously spreading on VTV's digital ecosystem, the program reached more than 115 million views and 2.3 million interactions; TikTok platform alone reached more than 22 million views. Many contents created a large spread such as reflecting diseased pork and celebrity, building materials,...
Representative of the production unit, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Deputy Head of the Specialized - Scientific Department, Vietnam Television, shared: "Anti-fraud - User protection" is a unique program of VTV specializing in this topic. Meanwhile, the program ratings are all at a high level of VTV, especially during the broadcast time".

According to Mr. Hoang Long, the issue of combating smuggling, trade fraud and protecting consumers needs to be spread more widely, deeper and go into more corners of social life. Although the past year has recorded great efforts from agencies, departments, and functional forces, information about combating smuggling and trade fraud has not appeared much in the press, including VTV.
Providing information about the positive results, Mr. Dang Van Dung - Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee 389 said that after more than 6 months of implementing Directive 13 of the Prime Minister with the motto "no forbidden zones, no exceptions", the work of fighting against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods has achieved many positive results.
From June 15 - November 30, 2025, functional forces handled more than 58,000 violations, collected nearly 6,300 billion VND from the budget, prosecuted 771 cases with 1,587 subjects, and dismantled many large-scale lines and gangs.
Media information is an "extended arm
Commenting on the coming time, Mr. Dung said that the situation of smuggling and trade fraud is still extremely complicated with increasingly sophisticated tricks and methods, especially in the e-commerce environment.

Information and communication work plays an extremely important role, being the "extended arm" of functional forces in propagating and disseminating laws to people and businesses. Warning of new methods and tricks of violators, orienting public opinion, mobilizing people not to consume, not to assist fake goods, smuggled goods. From there, contributing to building a transparent and healthy market, creating consensus and support from society" - Mr. Dung emphasized.
Need to complete the legal corridor
From the enforcement force, Major General Do Ngoc Canh - Director of the Department of Drug and Crime Prevention, Border Guard, said that prohibited substances such as drugs and N2O laughing gas are difficult to distinguish between real and fake goods. However, these types of prohibited substances have a very large impact and are harmful to health.

Currently, Fentanyl has appeared with a toxic content 100 times higher than Heroin. A person can only use it 2 times and cannot return, that is, it is impossible not to be addicted" - Mr. Canh informed.
Regarding N2O, the Border Guard has seized hundreds of laughing gas cylinders at the border. However, Mr. Canh also pointed out inadequacies in practice: "The current legal mechanism has not been handled in terms of procedural law (criminal), mainly administrative handling. With the act of transporting banned substances and using smoking or blowing to affect health, criminal responsibility is prosecuted, while this is considered an extremely dangerous banned substance, creating a very large illusion for teenagers and users".
Proposing a number of solutions in the coming time, Major General Do Ngoc Canh - Director of the Department of Drug and Crime Prevention, Border Guard proposed. First, complete the legal corridor, advise the Government on forms of deterrent legal handling. Second, continue to enhance the core role of functional forces. Along with that, promote the role of functional agencies, local authorities, departments, branches, and related agencies to get involved and recommend to all levels in each peak period.
There are times when goods are particularly concerned, such as firecrackers near the Lunar New Year, specialized topics are needed, and should not be spread throughout the year" - Mr. Canh noted.
