In the days in mid -March, in the cold weather, there was still a little spring incense, the journey started from the lake of Hoa Binh lake - one of the largest artificial lakes in Vietnam, where it was like "Ha Long Bay on land" in the Northwestern mountains.
The lake is spread over 5 districts and cities of Hoa Binh province, with immense water surfaces surrounded by steep rows of limestone mountains. Sitting on a small boat drifting gently in the middle of the calm lake, we suddenly recognized the wild but enchanting beauty of this place.
The deep blue surface reflected the wide sky, the small islands covered the trees appeared as artistic dots in the middle of the lake. The wind blew slightly, carrying cool water, causing the soul to suddenly calm down, as if all the chaos of the city were forgotten behind.
Along the road, the boat stopped by the villages along the lake, where the roofs of the stilts were looming in the middle of the forest, the sound of children playing echoing in the clear space. We had the opportunity to stop talking with the people, hearing about life attached to the river, about the water seasons, about the jubilant village festivals on the boat.
Continuing our journey towards Da Bac, we followed the road along the lake, the scenery on both sides kept changing, from the towering mountain ranges to the green valleys. Unconscious, when we turn onto a small path leading deep into the mountain, we feel like we are lost in another world - quiet, pristine and captivating.
Designed dazzling, the first rays of sunlight through the leaves, shining on the small road leading the entrance to Mo hamlet, Hien Luong commune. There, the lovely wooden houses nestled on the hillside, looking far away from the green lake bed like a soft silk strip across the horizon. The space is so fresh that just taking a deep breath is enough to feel light. The chirping birds sounded in the arch of the leaf, blending into the quiet space, drawing a gentle harmony of nature.

Lunch at a local restaurant is a symphony of Northwest colors and flavors. On a simple wooden table, typical dishes of the Muong people are presented as a vivid culinary painting. The Da River grilled fish restaurant has a fragrant aroma, grilled pork with leaves and soluble biber, along with sticky sticky rice sticky rice with leaves and purple and purple with brocade. All are products of the mountains and forests, processed in a way that only the skillful hands of local people can create.
In the airy space of the mountains and forests, each dish seems to be more flavorful, not only because of the spices but also because of the warm love of the Northwest people. Stories about life, culture, and bustling Muong festival seasons are told on the side of the rice tray, like rustic yet strangely attractive melodies.
There is no car horn, there is no dazzling neon light, only nature and people blend together in a very unique rhythm of the Northwestern mountains. The night in Mo village is the night of the travelers who find the peace, the souls of nature and the desire to once touch the pristine beauty. And then when the night was deep, only the silver moonlight covered the roof, each tree trunk, we realized that this place was not only beautiful by the scenery, but also by the rare quiet moments in the loud life.
Tourist Tran Mai Anh - from Hanoi, shared that he did not expect a vacation in Mo hamlet to have so many amenities. From the infinity pool, onsen tank, herbal medicine tank, dry and wet sauna room, to entertainment areas for adults and children... such as fishing, kayaking or canoeing on Hoa Binh lake.
"Some sections of the road from the commune center to Mo hamlet are still being improved, with quite adequate facilities. The not-so-distance travel is also a convenient location, suitable for short vacations on weekends, Ms. Mai Anh shared.
As tourism is increasingly developing, Hien Luong commune also welcomes visitors with cozy homestays, spacious restaurants and high-class resorts, such as: Mo Village, Xoan Retreat, Ho Tam Homestay...
Talking to reporters, Mr. Xa Van Hoe - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hien Luong Commune (Da Bac) - said: "Currently, in Hien Luong Commune, the lake area has attracted investment from 6 businesses and individuals from other localities. These units have bought land to develop tourism and grow medicinal herbs".
According to Mr. Hoa, the fact that Hien Luong commune is included in the planning of Hoa Binh Lake National Tourist Area with an area of 52,200 hectares has created a strong attraction for investors. Thanks to that, a series of resorts and homestays have been built, contributing to the development of the local economy, while creating stable jobs for people.
If one day you want to temporarily put aside the hardships of life, find Hoa Binh, to let go of your worries, to be carried away by nature, to find yourself in the peace of the mountains and forests.
