On September 25, the Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor held a conference to provide social criticism on the Draft "Resolution of the Provincial People's Council deciding on measures to ensure the implementation of democracy at the grassroots level in Gia Lai province".
At the conference, delegates focused on giving opinions on the necessity of issuing the resolution, the resolution's structure, the resolution's content, the resolution's objectives, and measures to ensure democracy at the grassroots level.
Speaking at the conference, Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation - Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy - affirmed that the organization of this conference aims to promote the right to mastery, mobilize the intelligence and enthusiasm of officials, union members and workers in the province in participating in completing the draft resolution.
The Law on Grassroots Democracy was passed by the 15th National Assembly at the 4th Session on November 10, 2022, and will take effect from July 1, 2023.
This is the highest legal document ever to institutionalize the Party and State's policies and guidelines on building and implementing grassroots democracy.
"The Draft Resolution of the Provincial People's Council on deciding on measures to ensure the implementation of democracy at the grassroots level in the province was developed by the Department of Home Affairs based on the direction of the Provincial People's Committee.
The conference is of great significance in promoting the role of trade unions in contributing ideas and social criticism. Thereby, contributing to the completion of the draft Resolution of the Provincial People's Council, ensuring the feasibility of the Resolution after it is passed" - Ms. Thuy emphasized.
