On December 31, the Gia Lai Provincial Federation of Labor said that in 2024, many movements and emulation activities organized by the unit were positively responded to by businesses and workers in the area.
Trade unions at all levels in the province have continuously cared for the material and spiritual lives of union members and workers, especially those in difficult circumstances, those who have suffered work accidents, lost their jobs, etc.
The units organized visits, gave gifts, and provided support during the 2024 Lunar New Year to 46,524 union members and workers with a total amount of over 21.5 billion VND.
The Union visited and presented gifts to 135 union members and workers facing difficulties, having work-related accidents or suffering from serious illnesses with a total support amount of 37.2 million VND; supported the construction and repair costs of 25 "Union Shelters" and "Houses of Charity" with a total amount of 921 million VND.
Also in the year, 244 grassroots trade unions coordinated with employers to organize the "Union Meal" program for 7,494 union members and workers with a total cost of more than 816 million VND.
The Union also supported 27 enterprises and units in negotiating and signing collective labor agreements, reaching 540% of the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The whole province has 81 units and enterprises implementing a shift meal regime for workers, each meal costs from 18,000 VND or more.
During the year, the province developed 2,117 union members, reaching 105.85% of the plan assigned by the General Confederation of Labor; newly established 44 grassroots unions and trade unions.
The total number of outstanding union members recommended for the Party to consider and admit is 1,986, reaching 118% of the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. Of these, 934 union members were admitted to the Party.
