Ms. Pham Thu Thuong, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Women's Union of Hai Phong City Labor Federation, said that over the past years, Hai Phong City's labor unions at all levels have effectively and practically implemented the emulation movement "Good at public work, good at housework" among female workers.
Every year, over 90% of female employees in Hai Phong City register for the emulation title "Good at public work, good at housework" and achieve the title at 3 levels.
Through the preliminary and final reviews, millions of female union members and workers have been rewarded by trade unions at all levels.
In the past 5 years, 1,248 collectives and 15,269 individuals were awarded in the emulation movement "Good at public work, good at housework", 386 female employees received Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Hai Phong City Labor Federation.
With the motto of focusing on the grassroots, for the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers in general and female workers in particular, in recent times, the city's trade unions at all levels have regularly and proactively grasped the thoughts and aspirations of female workers, supervised the implementation of policies at enterprises employing a large number of female workers, and integrated gender equality in the process of participating in drafting documents and monitoring and social criticism.
Enhance the effectiveness of trade union activities in negotiating and signing collective labor agreements with more favorable terms and conditions for female workers. Conduct a survey and build a pilot model of "Caring for and protecting the rights of female workers through dialogue at the workplace"...
Training and professional development for female cadres is focused on by trade unions at all levels with many practical contents and diverse forms.
Over the past 5 years, over 150 training courses have been organized with the participation of over 17,000 female employees, contributing to improving the quality of the team, meeting the requirements of the new situation and tasks. Directing trade unions at all levels to promptly discover and introduce to the Party Committees and authorities at the same level outstanding female employees who are qualified to be included in planning, training and appointing cadres, the percentage of women participating in the grassroots Executive Committee reached 66%, exceeding the target of the Resolution of the 15th Congress of the City Trade Union for the term 2023 - 2028.
The work of establishing and perfecting the Women's Union was focused on. During the term, 254 Women's Unions were established, achieving 108% of the assigned target.
In order to help improve reproductive health for female workers, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation continues to implement the model "Your Health", during the term, it has organized in-depth reproductive health examination and consultation (400,000 VND/person) for over 337,559 female workers.
In coordination with Save the Children International in Vietnam, the installation of over 60 milking and storage rooms at enterprises with a large number of female workers in VSIP and Nomura Industrial Parks was completed, bringing the total number of milking and storage rooms in Hai Phong to 112, thereby helping female workers with young children to express and store milk at the enterprise.
“Thus, the implementation of the emulation movement “Good at public work, good at home work” has contributed to creating important changes, so that female union members and employees can promote their creative potential, constantly study, improve their qualifications, always be dedicated, creative, and innovate their thinking to rise up to meet the requirements and tasks in the new period.
