On January 3, the Labor Federation of Thanh Tri district (Soc Trang province) held a conference to summarize the labor movement and trade union activities in 2024, and the work program for 2025.

In 2024, Thanh Tri District Trade Union at all levels did a good job of taking care of the lives, representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees.
On the occasion of Lunar New Year 2024, the District Labor Federation presented 188 gifts with a total value of over 157 million VND. The Trade Unions organized the presentation of 2,032 gifts to union members and employees with a value of over 600 million VND. In particular, union members and employees of the non-state sector trade unions were also awarded a 13th month salary on the occasion of the New Year and supported with 1 month's salary on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2024.
During the year, 3 new Union Shelters and 2 Great Solidarity Houses were built with a total amount of 250 million VND; timely visits were made to union members' families affected by fire.
In order to create jobs, increase income, and improve the lives of union members and employees, the Trade Union at all levels has mobilized 260 groups and teams to pool savings and capital without interest with more than 1,450 union members participating, contributing capital from 100,000 - 500,000 VND/month; coordinated with the government to provide credit to nearly 1,000 employees and employees to borrow over 20 billion VND.
Launching and effectively maintaining the model of “Motorbike taxi union participating in crime prevention and social evils prevention” in Phu Loc town with 35 members. The model aims to support union members in the informal sector to have conditions to develop and change their lives and those of their families. At the same time, improve the quality of life of the Union Executive Committee, do a good job of propaganda, dissemination of legal education, and collect union fees to have conditions to better care for union members and workers.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Trinh Thi Bao Khuyen - Vice President of the Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor - requested that the Thanh Tri District Labor Union at all levels coordinate well with leaders of agencies, units, and enterprises, and mobilize resources to organize activities to care for Tet for union members and workers.
Monitor the situation of labor relations, wages, bonuses, social insurance... promptly report to the Party Committee, government, and relevant sectors when discovering arising issues related to the rights and interests of union members and employees to have timely solutions.
Pay attention to developing union members when resources are available, gather workers of the same profession in the informal sector to establish grassroots unions.
On this occasion, 4 individuals were awarded the Medal "For the cause of building the Trade Union organization"; the Provincial Federation of Labor awarded the emulation flag to 1 unit with outstanding achievements in the CNCVLD movement and Trade Union activities in 2024.
