On July 23, the Provincial Steering Committee for the Elimination of Temporary and Dilapidated Houses and Social Housing Development announced the completion of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Ca Mau province (after the merger).
For the old province of Ca Mau, the Project has been completed and a summary conference will be held on June 18, 2025 when the construction and repair of 4,400/4,400 houses have been completed, reaching 100% with a total implementation cost of more than 235 billion VND.
As for the old Bac Lieu province, it was divided into many programs.
In the housing program for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs, the total number of households supported with housing is 2,481 (newly built 1,048 units; repaired 1,433 units), with a total cost of more than 123 billion VND. By July 19, all 2,481 units had been started (of which, 1,653 units had been completed, striving to complete 828 units before July 27, 2025).

The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households has a total of 2,537 households from the program (including: poor households 953 households; near-poor households 1,584 households). By June 30, 2025, the province had completed 2,537 units, reaching 100%, with a total implementation cost of more than 101 billion VND.
Housing support program for ethnic minorities who are poor households (under the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021 - 2030; period 1: 2021 - 2025, Bac Lieu province has 14 communes, wards and towns in ethnic minority areas according to Decision 861/QD-TTg dated June 4, 2021 of the Prime Minister).

The housing support program for ethnic minorities who are poor households, the total number of houses needed for support in the 2025 plan is 176 houses, as of April 30, 2025, construction has been 100% complete, with a total implementation cost of over 10.5 billion VND.
Ca Mau province has applied models such as: households without residential land, localities conduct reviews, specifically identify each subject, priority for resolution, resolution roadmap, ensure completion of set goals.
Along with that, it is necessary to mobilize families, relatives and relatives to buy land to build houses, lend land to build houses (with a commitment for a period of 20 years or more), borrow public land from the commune, review and arrange it in resettlement areas in the commune...
Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai suggested that localities continue to review households with housing difficulties to continue supporting; mobilize well-off households in the community to help disadvantaged households...
The Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee also requested the Party committees and authorities of communes and wards to continue to direct the review and implementation of livelihood support programs for subjects, to ensure that subjects, especially meritorious people, martyrs' families have housing, improve the quality of life, ensure sustainable poverty reduction and have an average or higher standard of living than the standard of the people where they live...
