Voters in the An Giang islet region are concerned about many agricultural and social security issues

NGUYÊN ANH |

Voters in the Binh Thanh Dong and Hoa Lac island regions (An Giang) sent concerns about the prices of agricultural materials, gasoline and oil and social security policies.

On March 9, the candidates for National Assembly Deputies of the 16th term of constituency No. 2, An Giang province had a meeting and contact with voters in Binh Thanh Dong commune.

At the conference, voters in Binh Thanh Dong and Hoa Lac communes expressed high agreement with the action program of the candidates. They also expressed concern about the reality of production.

Voter Le Van Co - an old farmer in Binh Thanh Dong commune - expressed concern: Recently, gasoline and oil prices have suddenly increased sharply. For farmers, gasoline and oil are not only fuel for travel but also the main fuel for operating tractors, pumps, and harvesters. The increase in gasoline leads to increased production costs and reduced profits.

Voter Pham Van Banh proposed that the State should pay special attention to transport infrastructure, especially the early commencement of Vam Nao bridge to break the "island" situation, helping to make transportation of agricultural products more convenient.

Regarding agricultural materials, voters reflected on the situation of fake and poor quality fertilizers and pesticides still rampant in the market, pushing people into a situation of "losing money and getting sick".

Regarding social security, grassroots health stations still lack health care equipment for people. Voters proposed policies to exempt and reduce health insurance (HI) for households with 2-3 children going to school to reduce the economic burden.

Regarding administrative procedures, the transfer of notarization and certification of papers from the Commune People's Committee to notary offices causes people to travel far, wait for a long time, causing unnecessary troubles.

Regarding alcohol concentration regulations, people agree with penalties to ensure traffic safety, but suggest that it is necessary to study appropriate alcohol levels, avoiding rigidity during festivals and local ceremonial parties.

At the conference, the candidates listened and shared each opinion of voters.

Mr. Luong Quoc Doan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union - expressed his deep understanding of the difficulties of the people. As the head of the organization representing the farmer class nationwide, he affirmed that he will always take farmers as the center of all parliamentary activities.

I promise that no matter what position I hold, I will do my job well. If trusted by voters, I will strengthen going to the grassroots level, maintain close contact to firmly grasp the current situation of agriculture and rural areas and the irrationalities in policies," Mr. Luong Quoc Doan emphasized.

Mr. Doan also raised 4 key issues to be proposed on transport infrastructure, specific policies, market stabilization, science and technology.
