The first peak activity (August 25 - September 2) to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the program "Federation Day - Ethnicity unity" was implemented by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Ho Chi Minh City and organizations in 168 wards, communes and special zones, creating an exciting atmosphere and national pride throughout the city.
According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, as of the morning of September 2, there were 4,879 activities to celebrate National Day, attracting the active participation of a large number of people. Of which, 133 independent Tet festivals are held in residential areas.
The total value of care and implementation of community service works in the first peak period of activities is up to 26.9 billion VND.
Also on this occasion, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of wards, communes and special zones presented 5,418 gifts to households. At the same time, 899 scholarships were awarded to children in difficult circumstances before the new school year. There are 9 charity houses that have started construction, repaired and donated.
There were 868 solidarity meals and charity kitchen activities, more than 5,310 meals were provided free of charge to lonely elderly people and people in difficult circumstances.
Flag roads and alleys of the Fatherland flag were also built, creating brilliant spaces for streets and residential areas. To date, in addition to the existing chess lines, 98 new chess lines have been completed.
Localities also implemented more than 153 meaningful projects, responding to the movement of the City of River Flowers, contributing to beautifying urban landscapes and improving the quality of the living environment.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City emphasized that the above results are achieved thanks to the creativity and proactiveness of localities in implementing projects and work effectively, bringing practical and long-term value.
Thereby, it affirms the concern and support of the entire political system in Ho Chi Minh City in caring for the material and spiritual life of the people. The spirit of great solidarity fostered and spread through this activity will be a solid foundation for Ho Chi Minh City to continue to promote its internal strength, continue to develop in the new period - the era of national growth.
