For the 2024 - 2029 term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Dong Thap province has strongly innovated the content and methods of operation; promoted the central role in the great national unity bloc, achieved many comprehensive results, contributing significantly to the successful implementation of the province's political tasks.
Accordingly, the great national unity bloc was firmly consolidated, creating a foundation for social consensus. After the merger of the two provinces of Dong Thap - Tien Giang, the Front system quickly stabilized its organization, promoted the role of the political alliance, gathered and promoted the strength of all classes of people, religions, ethnic groups, and overseas Vietnamese; maintained dialogue, listened to people's opinions, contributed to maintaining political and social stability.
For propaganda and mobilization work, it is innovative, flexible and creative. The whole province of Dong Thap has organized more than 52,000 activities, reached more than 2.1 million people, reflected more than 2,000 opinions and recommendations of the People; strengthened coordination with state agencies to promptly resolve problems at the grassroots level.
The role of social supervision and criticism was promoted and organized over 2,200 supervision and criticism sessions; the People's Inspectorate and the Community Investment Supervision Board conducted more than 6,400 sessions, discovered and recommended many issues related to people's rights; actively participated in building the Party and government, and effectively carried out the work of receiving people and reconciling grassroots.
Notably, patriotic emulation campaigns and movements have been widely deployed, bringing practical results. Specifically, the movement "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" became a bright spot nationwide, with 4,519 apartments completed 03 months early, creating a great spread of the spirit of humanity and the solidarity of the community. The campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas" achieved outstanding results, contributing to Dong Thap and Tien Giang (old) being recognized as provinces meeting new rural standards.
In addition, social security work has achieved practical results. The "For the Poor" Fund and socialized resources have mobilized over 127 billion VND, supporting tens of thousands of poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households; promptly helping people overcome difficulties caused by natural disasters and epidemics. Promote the self-management role of the People through the models of "Self-managed People's Group", " Hoi An", " grand Unity Space", "Great Unity Day for the Community", contributing to building a "rich - happy - safe" residential area, reducing complaints, maintaining security and order at the grassroots level.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province Phan Van Thang acknowledged that the above results have affirmed the core role in the great national unity bloc; strong innovation, practical and effective activities, contributing to strengthening people's trust and strengthening the strength of great solidarity in the new development stage.
Continue to innovate strongly and comprehensively
According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province, entering the 2025 - 2030 term, with new requirements of the post-merger development stage, the Provincial Front determined to continue to strongly and comprehensively innovate to meet the expectations of the Party Committee and people of the province.
"We have set 12 target groups and launched 07 action programs. For the 2025 - 2030 term Action Program, in addition to 6 programs according to the Central's orientation, based on the actual situation of the province, to contribute to the implementation of the targets set by the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2020.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee has asked for opinions from members of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee for the 2024 - 2029 term, former Chairmen and former Vice Chairmen of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee through the periods (old Dong Thap province and old Tien Giang province) to give additional opinions on Program No. 7. The Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the province participates in implementing the target that by 2030, the whole province will no longer have poor households (according to the multidimensional poverty standard) - Mr. Thang informed.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front of Dong Thap province has also identified 05 major orientations and key groups of solutions: First, continue to promote the strength of great national unity, strengthen social consensus; arouse the will to be self-reliant, self-reliant and aspirational to rise up of Dong Thap people, contributing to the implementation of the goal of rapid and sustainable development according to the orientation of "Eco-agriculture - Modern Industry - Civilized Rural Development".
Second, improve the quality of self-management models in the community, considering this a continuous breakthrough task. The Front will consolidate and replicate models such as: Self-managed People's Group, Association, Great Unity Space, Great Unity Day for the Community, Professional Farmers, Residential Area "Safety - Safety - Security of the People", ... so that people are truly the subjects in local governance and development. Third, innovate supervision and social criticism in a practical direction, "Having addresses - Having recommendations - Having monitoring after supervision". Strengthen the responsibility of competent agencies, organizations and individuals in responding to after-supervision; promote the role of Advisory Councils, Advisory Boards, experts and scientists.
"above all, we will build a streamlined, professional, effective and efficient Front system at all levels.We focus on improving the capacity, skills of mass mobilization, and the responsibility to set an example for the staff, especially at the grassroots level; continuing to innovate the coordination mechanism to unify actions with socio-political organizations.
Along with that, it is necessary to promote digital transformation in the Front's activities, increase interaction with people in the digital environment; carry out the management of connecting work, minimize paper documents, towards the Digital Front and digital residential areas" - Mr. Thang said.
