According to the Representative Board of the Association of the Elderly in Lac Son district, by the end of 2024, the whole district will have over 17,000 elderly people participating in organizing the Association, of which more than 320 people are directly taking on roles in the political system at the grassroots level - from Party cell secretary, head of the front work committee, to Party cell leader of the unions. They are not only exemplary cadres but also " dependable friends" of the people in mobilization and propaganda work.
Mr. Bui Van Don, a member of the elderly association of Trang 1 hamlet, Thuong Coc commune, shared: "Many times, there is no need to share at long rates. I only told my children and grandchildren in the house: don't speed and overtake, don't encroach on the road - both protecting yourself and your people. Just say that, people listen, and invite each other to study and propagate the law".
Without model books, the elderly in Lac Son bring the law to the community in appropriate forms: telling stories at gatherings, sharing through clubs, cultural activities... From the Traffic Law, the Law on Marriage and Family to the Law on the Elderly are all integrated into village exchanges, becoming an easy-to-receive "spiritual food" for the people in the highlands.

In 2024, the Association of the Elderly in communes and towns organized more than 230 activities to integrate legal content, coordinating with relevant agencies to implement many communication activities in the community. Propaganda is promoted during the Month of Action for the Elderly and major holidays, contributing to raising awareness and reducing violations in daily life.
Not only stopping at propaganda, the elderly are also a force actively participating in mediation work, community supervision and security and order protection in villages and hamlets. With experience and skill, many men have successfully resolved arising conflicts, contributing to maintaining solidarity and discipline in the village.
Mr. Bui Minh Thanh - Head of the Representative Board of the Association of the Elderly in Lac Son district said: The "Age - Brightness" movement in Lac Son is no longer a slogan but a vivid proof. They are still tirelessly dedicated, not with their strength as before, but with their intelligence, prestige, and their own heart for the community. The special thing is that the elderly always have a timely grasp of new policies and guidelines, regularly participate in training courses and legal fostering organized by the district. Thanks to that, they become an effective bridge between the government and people in the highlands, especially households with limited access to information. Many families have abandoned backward customs, proactively implementing legal regulations in building a life, contributing to maintaining security and order and developing the community sustainably. In 2024, the whole district will have 215 elderly people recognized as being good at economics, 46 people are owners of businesses and production facilities - not only enriching their families but also a source of experience for the young generation.
From these simple stories, it can be clearly seen that the law does not only come to the people through documents, but also through the words of acquaintances, through the example of the elderly in the village. In the Lac Son highlands, the elderly are the "lawyers" who are silent but persistent, and are attached to the community all their lives.
