Opening up job opportunities for people
In recent years, authorities at all levels of Buon Don district have gradually expanded livelihood opportunities, aiming at the goal of sustainable poverty reduction for local people.
To support workers in accessing recruitment information, the district has coordinated with the Dak Lak Provincial Employment Introduction Center to organize mobile job fairs right in the locality.

Recently, there have been 4 job fairs held in disadvantaged commune clusters such as: Krong Na - Ea Huar, Ea Wer, Ea Bar - Cuor Knia and Tan Hoa - Ea Nuol.
These job fairs not only help people access recruitment information but also receive advice and career orientation suitable for their personal qualifications and abilities.
Ms. Y B'Hui, a resident of Krong Na commune, said: "I only work as a housewife all year round and take care of my young children, so I don't know how to find a job. Thanks to the trading session, I was given appropriate job advice and submitted my application to a business that is recruiting unskilled workers".

Propaganda to each hamlet has been strongly implemented through mass organizations such as the Youth Union, Women's Union, Farmers' Association, etc. Thereby, helping people clearly understand the rights, working regime and career opportunities when participating in the official labor market.
Mr. Y Won, residing in Ea Wer commune, said: "People in the village mainly do farming, so they only have enough to eat, and their lives are not much. Participating in the job fair, I feel like I have the opportunity to have a stable job, good salary, hoping to improve my family life better".
Vocational training associated with actual needs
According to statistics from the People's Committee of Buon Don district, the total population of the district is currently 17,716 households with 74,388 people. Of which, ethnic minorities account for nearly 47%. Currently, the labor force aged 15 and over reaches more than 43,000 people. However, there are still about 6,672 people who have not participated in economic activities.

To solve this problem, Buon Don district has effectively implemented Sub-project 3 - Project 5 under the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, focusing on job creation and improving vocational skills for workers.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hieu - Deputy Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of Buon Don district said: "Many mountainous workers have not received vocational training, mainly self-sufficient farmers, so their income is low. Therefore, vocational training associated with actual business needs and local conditions is a key factor.
Short-term vocational training classes have been organized with practical content such as: Agricultural techniques, animal husbandry, small machinery repair, brocade weaving... These occupations are suitable for the characteristics of mountainous areas, helping people to work on site or participate in businesses with demand for seasonal and seasonal labor.

With the correct orientation, determination of the government and the consensus of the people, Buon Don is gradually affirming the effectiveness of the program to solve employment in ethnic minority areas.
This is an important premise for the district to develop sustainably, creating substantial changes in poverty reduction and improving the quality of life for people in border areas.
