After floods, 1,000 people in Hue receive free health check-ups and medicine

HUE - The Youth Union of Hue Central Hospital coordinated with the Vietnam Young Physicians Association to organize health check-ups and provide free medicine to 1,000 people after the flood.

On November 26, the Youth Union of Hue Central Hospital coordinated with the Central Committee of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association and the government of Hung Loc commune (Hue city) to organize a program of medical examination, health consultation and free medicine distribution to people after a long period of floods. This is an activity to support primary health care, helping people soon stabilize their lives after natural disasters.

Speaking at the program, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan - Deputy Minister of Health, Chairman of the National Medical Council acknowledged the efforts of the team of young doctors, and emphasized the significance of mobile medical examination and treatment activities after natural disasters in protecting health and supporting the spirit of people in flooded areas.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Xuan - Deputy Director of the Hospital, Vice President of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association said that the hospital wishes to provide people not only prescription drugs but also "mental medicine", through the sharing and support of the medical team. Hue Central Hospital will continue to coordinate with the locality to implement community health care activities in the coming time.

With 36 medical staff participating, the program examined, consulted and provided free medicine to 1,000 people, deploying many professional services: general internal medicine, surgery, ear - nose - throat, teeth - jaw - face, dermatology, eyes; ultrasound, blood pressure measurement, electrocardiography. People are also instructed on post-flood health care, respiratory, digestive, dermatological and environmental sanitation, care for the elderly and pregnant women.

Within the framework of the activity, the working group presented medical supplies and necessities to the Commune Health Center; visited and encouraged grassroots health workers and people severely affected. In particular, the delegation organized the presentation of "Nhan Ai House" to a household in especially difficult circumstances in Hung Loc commune, an activity within the social security chain towards the community.

Over the years, the team of young doctors at Hue Central Hospital has maintained volunteer activities, epidemic prevention, blood donation, support for natural disaster response and scientific research, contributing to building the image of an intelligent, responsible and humane young doctor.

The medical examination program in Hung Loc commune took place safely and effectively, receiving the response of the people and leaving a good impression on the spirit of community of Hue Central Hospital and the Vietnam Young Physicians Association.
