Ho Chi Minh City children offer ideas to build the city in the new era

Ho Chi Minh City - The City Leaders' Meeting and Listening to Children 2026 program has the theme "Uncle Ho's City Children firmly step into a new era".

On the morning of May 29, the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City organized a program for City leaders to meet and listen to children in 2026 with the theme "Uncle Ho's City Children firmly step into a new era".

The program also has the participation of 150 typical children's delegates representing nearly 3 million children in Ho Chi Minh City. These are typical excellent students, young talents; active members of clubs, teams, children's houses; children of workers, children of armed forces soldiers; children at child care and protection facilities; delegates participating in the Ho Chi Minh City Children's Council.

Speaking to orient at the program, Mr. Huynh Thanh Nhan - City Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council said that this forum is not only a conference but also a warm space for city leaders to better understand the thoughts, feelings and dreams of children; listen to the voice from the heart of childhood, to see the city through the prism of purity, innocence but also full of aspirations of children.

From there, city leaders will have more appropriate guidelines, policies and solutions to care for children more and better.

Over the years, from the innocent but also responsible opinions of children, many major policies of the city have been implemented and concretized. Many playgrounds have been expanded, many infrastructures, facilities and environmental conditions have been invested so that children can study, live better, and have a happier life.

Today's generation of children is very intelligent, sensitive, and has access to modern information technology and many diverse cultures. The Internet and digital platforms are not only places for children to search for knowledge and exchange information, but with the skills that have been equipped and nurtured in the past, children will have more practical and interesting initiatives and ideas for today's program.

Mr. Huynh Thanh Nhan believes that each opinion exchanged today is a voice representing the city's children; at the same time, it is the result of a process of training bravery so that the children become excellent leaders, global citizens in the future.

At the program, children presented opinions according to 4 topic groups, including: Lifelong learning in the digital age; Digital citizens connecting and developing; Smart city - Children's perspective; Building digital culture and safety in cyberspace. In addition, children's delegates expressed personal opinions.
