According to information from the Forestry and Forest Protection Department (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment), week 15 from January 13-19. 4 areas from Thanh Hoa to Hue City continue to have intense and especially intense heat with the highest temperature commonly 38-40 degrees, in some places above 40 degrees. The relative lowest humidity is commonly from 30-35% on dry windy days, which is a favorable condition for forest fires to break out and spread quickly.

The Forestry and Forest Protection Department also warned that the risk of forest fires in many localities is at level IV, level V (dangerous and extremely dangerous level) - the 2 highest levels in the forest fire warning level.
Specifically, the North Central region is at risk of level IV - V forest fires. Provinces such as Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh... may experience rapid fire spreading on pine and acacia forests.
The Northwest region is at risk of level IV forest fires when hot weather is forecast to reach 35 - 38 degrees Celsius.
The Central Highlands and South Central regions are at risk of level III - IV forest fires. In particular, people in Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Lam Dong should be highly vigilant because there are many pine forests and Khop forests here.
The Southern region is at risk of level III - IV forest fires. Especially the melaleuca forest area in An Giang and Ca Mau has a layer of dry, easily smoldering, difficult-to-extinguish mud.
According to information from the Forestry and Forest Protection Department, functional forces organize 24/24 hour duty, ensuring they are always ready to handle any arising situations. Along with that, field supervision is strengthened to check the level of drought in each forest area, thereby issuing appropriate alarm levels. Early detection of fire points is also particularly focused on to handle them from the beginning, preventing the risk of breaking out into large fires.
In parallel with on-duty work, fire source control and propaganda to raise people's awareness are identified as important solutions. Localities strictly prohibit the use of fire in and near forests; and at the same time guide people to produce fields in accordance with planning, clearly stipulating prohibited areas for burning to limit the risk of fire spreading. Propaganda and dissemination of laws on forest fire prevention and fighting are also promoted, contributing to raising community awareness of responsibility in forest protection.
