On the morning of May 19, Mr. Vu Duc Nhuan - Chairman of Son Dien Commune People's Committee (Lam Dong) said that the local government is coordinating with functional units to overcome landslide points on Gia Bac Pass, belonging to National Highway 28 through Son Dien commune, Lam Dong to soon reopen traffic.

According to records, in the early morning of the same day, due to prolonged heavy rain combined with the area under construction for landslide treatment, a landslide occurred at Km51+900 National Highway 28, mud and soil overflowed and filled the road surface.
The incident caused traffic through Gia Bac Pass to be cut off, and many vehicles could not pass through the area.

Immediately after the landslide occurred, functional forces arranged checkpoints, regulated traffic and guided vehicles not to circulate through Gia Bac Pass to ensure safety.
Currently, functional units are mobilizing manpower and machinery to handle soil and rocks spilling onto the road surface to soon restore traffic on the route.

Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, at the end of 2025, many locations on National Highway 28 passing through Son Dien commune also experienced serious landslides after prolonged heavy rains, soil and rocks overflowing onto the road surface causing traffic jams.
After that, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province announced a natural disaster emergency situation and deployed emergency works to handle landslides.
Functional agencies recommend that people limit traffic through the Gia Bac pass area during the prolonged heavy rain due to the risk of continued landslides and rocks overflowing onto the road surface.
