The highest peak tide level appeared on November 17, 2024 on the Hau River at Can Tho Hydrological Station Hmax at 4:30 a.m. was 2.03m, exceeding BD 3 by 0.03m (0.14m higher than the same period in 2023 (October 17th lunar month).
Can Tho City Hydrometeorological Station forecasts that the peak water level on rivers and canals in Can Tho City will continue to rise on the first day, then fall back down following the tide. On the first day, the water level will remain high and exceed level 3 on November 18 (ie October 18 of the lunar calendar). The peak water level will appear every day in the early morning from 5am to 7am and in the evening from 5pm to 7pm.
Mr. Le Sy Vinh - Deputy Director of Can Tho City Hydrometeorological Station said that this is a high tide with a peak tide exceeding level 3 by 0.05 - 0.15m. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention during high tide days combined with heavy rain, which will cause flooding in low-lying areas and inner-city areas along the river of the city.
