On May 17, the Hanoi Police Electronic Information Portal reported that the City Police has just held a conference to evaluate the results of implementing Plan No. 10 and Plan No. 55 of the City Police on strengthening crime prevention and control, violations related to illegal sand and gravel mining and a general review, fight against and handle crimes, violations of the law and advise on resolving facilities causing serious pollution, areas and locations of environmental pollution.
At the Conference, the Director of Hanoi Police emphasized that the fight against violations in sand and gravel mining and environmental protection is a key task in the current period.
Therefore, it is required that forces must resolutely fight to focus on 08 key contents, implementing with the highest sense of responsibility, "no forbidden areas, no exceptions".
Heads of units must directly direct the work of grasping the situation, resolutely fighting and thoroughly handling violations related to illegal exploration, exploitation, transportation, storage, trading, sand and gravel; not allowing waterway and road vehicles that are not registered, inspected, or fully inspected to have conditions for circulation, participate in illegal sand mining and transportation, or require the dismantling of machinery and equipment for additional installation that is not in accordance with regulations.
Continue to strengthen and promote patrolling, controlling, detecting, and thoroughly handling violations at river sand mines, detecting and handling homemade road and river vehicles, arbitrarily turning around, installing additional pumping equipment, transporting sand and gravel that violate traffic safety order.
In particular, it is necessary to proactively advise and propose to the City People's Committee to direct departments, branches, sectors, and People's Committees at all levels to thoroughly handle illegal wharves and gathering points for minerals (sand) in the City.

At the same time, units must seriously implement Plan No. 55; organize general inspections, detect, combat, and strictly handle violations of the law related to environmental pollution.
Continue to review and update the list of facilities with signs of dumping and discharging waste causing environmental pollution, production, business, recycling facilities... and areas and locations with serious environmental pollution in the city, especially in craft villages and industrial parks.
Organize working groups to propagate, inspect and guide businesses, craft villages and industrial parks to comply with regulations in waste treatment into the environment.
"The city police will consider the responsibility of the head of the unit, management officers, and those in charge of the area and field if they do not strictly implement the instructions, do not report on violations, and allow serious violations to occur in the area" - Director of Hanoi Police affirmed.
