Patient Hoang Van H (30 years old) is the main breadwinner of a poor family in Dong Di village, Kien Thiet commune, Yen Son district - one of the poorest communes in Tuyen Quang province. Mr. H's wife is currently unemployed and his two children are growing up.
He suddenly had a high fever, difficulty breathing and coughing up blood. Mr. H was admitted to Tuyen Quang Provincial General Hospital and then transferred to the Central Lung Hospital with an extremely critical diagnosis: Respiratory failure, septic shock, coughing up blood, severe pneumonia complicated by ARDS and acute kidney failure. With very low blood oxygen parameters while receiving maximum ventilator support, the prognosis for survival was only a matter of hours.
The on-duty team of the Central Lung Hospital immediately deployed ECMO and continuous blood filtration techniques along with other special care measures in a very short time. The application of the most advanced techniques by the medical team has brought the patient a chance to live.

After 10 days of treatment, the patient was able to breathe room air on his own, his respiratory index was stable and he was discharged from the hospital on October 10.
However, the cost of techniques in Emergency Resuscitation for critically ill patients is quite high, beyond the patient's family's ability to pay. Therefore, in addition to the hospital's efforts, thanks to the support and appeal of the Department of Social Work and Communications, benefactors have joined hands to support the amount of 35,040,000 VND to help his family overcome difficulties and feel secure in treatment.
The story of Mr. Hoat's case is a testament to the spirit of solidarity and sharing in the community.
This story spreads the humane message that in difficult times, humanity and solidarity from the community are always a great source of strength, helping to overcome seemingly insurmountable challenges.
