"People in the flood-hit areas of Quang Binh, please wait for us in Yen Bai. Our hearts are small but our love for our fellow countrymen never stops urging us" are the appeals of Yen Bai people when they heard that people in the Central region are being severely affected by storm No. 6.
Mr. Duong Thanh Hai, Secretary of the Ninh Thuan village Party cell, Nga Quan commune, Tran Yen district (Yen Bai) shared: "More than a month ago, people in communes and districts of Yen Bai province suffered heavy losses due to storm No. 3. At that time, people in the Central region in particular and the whole country in general saved every banh chung and bag of rice to send to relief."
“Although we have not overcome difficulties, when we know that Quang Binh people are facing difficulties, we cannot just stand by and watch,” Mr. Hai confided.

No sooner said than done, after filling his family's bags with rice, Mr. Duong Thanh Hai traveled by motorbike to each house to count the total amount of goods donated to the people of Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh province.
On social networks, many groups have called for support for people in the Central region who are facing difficulties after storm No. 6.
Having just experienced a prolonged flood, people contributed in the spirit of… supporting whatever they had. Some people gave boxes of instant noodles that had not been used yet, others added blankets, mosquito nets, or packages of seasoning powder or fish sauce. Wealthier households directly donated rice or cash. Meanwhile, many benefactors sponsored zero-dong buses and manpower to bring goods to the interior.

In Bao Dap commune, Tran Yen district, a movement to support the people of the Central region was also launched. Ms. Do Phuong, the person in charge of implementing the program, said: Last night (November 2), a truck carrying 4 tons of relief goods departed for the people of Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province.
“We received help from people all over the country during the recent floods. In turn, we want to send a little bit of our hearts back,” Ms. Phuong expressed.

Previously, the impact of storm No. 3 in Yen Bai left 54 people dead and missing; 27,331 houses damaged and affected; many infrastructures and agricultural production facilities were damaged. Preliminary statistics estimated the damage at about 5,738 billion VND.
Local authorities are arranging resettlement land funds along with measures to create sustainable livelihoods to help people stabilize their lives soon after storms and floods.
