As of noon on October 10, according to the reporter's records, the weak dykes in Bac Ninh, which have been threatened by rising floodwaters from the Cau and Thuong rivers in the past few days, are still standing firm.

The army and people unanimously joined forces to build high dikes

At the Cau River dike through Doai village, Tam Giang commune, at noon on October 10, the river water had receded about 20cm from the flood peak on the evening of October 9. Currently, officers and soldiers of Regiment 833 continue to concentrate their forces, together with local authorities and people, to strengthen this dike. The army and people of Tam Giang commune had a sleepless night, working together to raise the dike, determined to prevent severe floods.

In Xuan Cam and Hop Thinh communes, Bac Ninh province, the river water is still high, but the walls are built with sandbags created by the army and people all night to help prevent floodwaters from flooding into the fields. From noon on October 10, the river water began to show signs of slowing down.

In Tien Luc, My Thai communes and Da Mai ward, on the night of October 9, floods on the Thuong River continued to rise, posing a potential risk of landslides, overflow or dike breaches, and making people and property unsafe. Officers and soldiers of the Defense Command of Region 2 - Lang Giang (Bac Ninh Provincial Military Command) coordinated with the rescue forces of the Hanoi Capital Command and local forces to carry out flood prevention, control and overcoming.

In recent days, thousands of people in Bac Ninh have volunteered to join the dike protection, guarding and providing food day and night, and working with functional forces to protect this dike to safety during the flood.

Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Dau Han 1 Zone, said: Thanks to the efforts of the Army, Police and thousands of people from the night of October 7 to today, the dam construction and dike protection have risen nearly 1m high, so even though the floodwaters came quickly, the 2.8km long dike is still safe. With big water, some leaks, we have paved the road, built drainage roads, not to affect the dike body".

The dykes adjacent to industrial parks such as the Dai Han dyk (near Quang Chau Industrial Park), the Cau River dykes (near Hoa Phu Industrial Park) are also safe, not affecting the operations of enterprises in the industrial parks.

According to information from the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province on the morning of October 10, the water level on the Thuong and Cau rivers decreased slowly. Key dykes are currently under control, ensuring safety.
