The 16-year journey of solidarity
For nearly 16 years, amid the pressure of studying and research in the Pharmaceutical industry, a group of students at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy has quietly lit up the spark of hope for many children in difficult circumstances. That is the "For Children" Club - a place to nurture and spread the spirit of volunteerism, sharing and compassion.

Established in 2009, the For Children Club is under the Student Association of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, currently chaired by Chau Thi Yen Nhi. The special thing and also the factor that creates the club's enduring vitality is the strong connection between generations. To date, the club has gone through 10 generations of sponsors.
Nguyen Hai Dang Khoa - a student majoring in General Medicine, a member of the Club - said that although the former chairmen and members of the Club are now doctors working in many different provinces and cities, they always maintain annual meetings, not only contributing funds but also conveying experience and expertise, helping the Club maintain and develop operations.
The club operates on a high level of volunteerism. The members are all students, arranging their own study time and contributing funds to jointly carry out meaningful programs.

With more than 230 students participating, the For Children Club is divided into two main groups including a free teaching group and a group implementing charity programs.
For the loving class, the free teaching group is supporting primary school children at 5 facilities in Can Tho City. Every week, members spend 3 evenings accompanying, supporting review and instructing students on homework according to the curriculum. For those who have not been able to go to school, students still persistently teach.
"We are not only teachers but also brothers and sisters, always ready to share all thoughts and instruct them in necessary life skills," Dang Khoa expressed.
Let's have sunshine for you
In addition to teaching, the Club also organizes many other meaningful activities such as giving monthly gifts to children selling lottery tickets, organizing parties for children of Truong Tuong Lai (Can Tho City) and especially raising funds to help poor children at Can Tho Children's Hospital, Can Tho Hematology - Blood Transfusion Hospital.

Recently, the For Children Club has implemented a touching program called " quyen danh cho em" at Can Tho Hematology - Blood Transfusion Hospital. Recently, the Club has presented meaningful gifts to 12 children in difficult circumstances at the hospital.
"Their childhood was stolen by evil diseases, every day they had to face needles and pain. From there, the Club members want to bring the gentlest things to warm their hearts, so that they know that they are not alone, Dang Khoa emotionally shared.
As a regular companion in many charity activities to support and help students of the school, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Phuc Hung - Head of the Department of Pharmacy Management, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy - expressed his pride in the Club: "The Club for Children operates very effectively and practically with many accompanying, supporting, sharing programs, and caring for less fortunate children".
With nearly 16 years of persistent dedication, the For Children Club has become a bright spot of volunteer spirit in the student community of Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, thereby sowing seeds of hope and spreading profound human values.
