Da Bac Town Secondary School, located in Da Bac District, Hoa Binh Province, is the place where 468 students study. Although located in the Da River basin with about 70km of river flowing through the area, Da Bac District is still considered one of the localities with the most difficult socio-economic conditions in Hoa Binh Province and is one of the 22 poorest districts in the country, with difficult traffic conditions and complex terrain. The population in the area is scattered, of which ethnic minorities account for 89.72% of the population. The whole district has 12/17 communes and towns in Region III, which are in the particularly difficult area of the country.
Nguyen Khanh Linh, president of the Green School Club, currently a student at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), said that in recent years, Green School has organized many propaganda and guidance activities, contributing to shaping an educational model that combines theory and practice to raise environmental protection awareness for students and the community through sustainable projects such as "Green shopping bags, smart housewives", "Joining hands to reduce plastic waste"...
Also attending at Da Bac Town Secondary School, members of Green School, Nguyen Dinh An (currently a student at New York University) and Ha Quoc Dung (currently a project officer at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) - said that every year, at the end of winter and the beginning of spring, Green School often organizes visits and gives gifts on the occasion of Lunar New Year to ethnic and mountainous students in difficult areas, in the poorest districts in the country with difficult transportation, complex terrain and underdeveloped socio-economic conditions.
