Witnessing Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh officially launching the "digital education civil servant" movement on March 26, it is undeniable that the "people's education civil servant" campaign more than 70 years ago was considered a turning point in eliminating illiteracy, bringing Vietnam overcoming knowledge barriers and integrating into the world.
In the context of online public services, e-commerce, cashless payments... becoming increasingly popular, a significant number of people are still unfamiliar or afraid of using devices and digital applications.
In particular, for people living in remote areas, the elderly or the general working group with little access to technology, "leaving" digital skills means they are deprived of many opportunities to improve their lives.
Therefore, the "Digital education platform" movement will be a breakthrough, helping everyone to learn and use basic digital tools.
Just like illiteracy removal does not stop at knowing how to spell but also needs to be understood and applied in practice, digital skills blind removal also requires people to know how to operate basically, grasp information security rules, and access online public services effectively.
For example, a farmer needs to know how to declare administrative procedures on the Public Service Portal; a trader can learn how to sell goods online; or an elderly person can remotely look up medical examination and treatment schedules...
More importantly, digital knowledge not only helps improve people's knowledge, develop the economy, and life, but in the short term - also helps people access technology, recognizing that fraud through high technology is a problem of society.
At the launching ceremony of the movement and launching the "Digital Education platform", Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the determination to complete this movement within 1 year, thanks to the participation of the entire political system.
However, to achieve the goal of popularizing digital knowledge, it is indispensable to have the cooperation of the business sector, social organizations and the community.
They can support internet infrastructure, provide equipment, organize training courses, or simply instruct them to "hand the job".
Or expand "digital community learning center" models in villages, communes and wards to create conditions for people to study and practice regularly.
Completing the goal of "Digital education in the face of the people" is not only meaningful in society, but also a decisive factor to promote the national digital transformation process.
For an e-government, a digital economy to operate smoothly, the core is that citizens must master technology at a basic level.
If the majority of people are still out of the game and do not know how to interact online, it will form a "digital gap" that hinders common development.
On the contrary, when everyone participates, the voice and needs of the people will be listened to, answered more easily and transparently.
Binh dan hoc so luong is a bold but extremely practical idea, a way to eras the blind of the new era so that no one is left behind.
Because in the digital age, a technology-blind person will also be disadvantaged just like when they do not know the written side.
