Trade unions bring joy and faith to workers

Da Nang Trade Union brought overwhelming joy and belief in being protected to 58 workers of Hoa Khanh Textile Joint Stock Company in the last days of the year.

Happy and believing, because the final figure of more than 1.8 billion VND out of more than 3.2 billion VND of salary debt, social insurance and many other amounts, paid by Hoa Khanh Textile Joint Stock Company to 58 workers in the last days of the year is the result of a long journey of nearly three years to the end of the law, is the persistence of workers and is clear evidence of the representative role of the trade union organization.

The fact that the Da Nang City Labor Federation stands out to support workers to sue businesses to claim their rights and win the lawsuit once again clearly affirms the representative role of the trade union organization in the context that individual workers find it very difficult to protect themselves from complex legal disputes.

Each individual worker has difficulty in having enough legal knowledge, time, costs and even perseverance to pursue a lawsuit that lasts for many years. But when there is a representative trade union organization, their voice becomes more weighty, and the legal path is also clearer and more solid.

In reality, many prolonged labor disputes are not because of lack of court rulings, but because of obstacles in judgment enforcement. When businesses are in difficulty, assets are limited, or intentionally procrastinate, the handling process is often slow. Workers - who are already weak, are even more tired and disadvantaged.

If there is no organization with sufficient capacity and determination to go to the end, it is very easy to fall into a situation of "winning" the judgment but "losing" because they cannot recover money when enforcing the judgment.

The case at Hoa Khanh Textile Joint Stock Company shows that when the trade union gets involved, they will pursue it until success. Not easy, not quick, but in the end there is a result.

Nearly three years with all levels of emotions - from doubt to trust, from worry to bursting happiness - of both workers and trade union officials, the success story of Hoa Khanh Textile workers is proof that, when workers know how to rely on their representative organization, their trust is more solid than ever. And that is the most sustainable value after a journey of many challenges.

Even more joyful, the victory can be said to be complete of the lawsuit at Hoa Khanh Textile Joint Stock Company has brought hope for other lawsuits that Da Nang Trade Union is supporting workers to pursue in many businesses. Among them, 113 more workers - also at Hoa Khanh Textile continued to send petitions requesting trade union support to claim their rights.

The story of trade unions supporting workers to sue businesses for wages, social insurance and other policies is not only in Da Nang, but has happened in many localities in the past time.

Therefore, the belief in this victory from Da Nang will certainly be spread to the trade union organization and to workers in other localities in the near future.
