So it is no coincidence that in many stories of workers, the phrase "Trade Union is a support" or "Trade Union warmth" is mentioned proudly and affectionately.
Reality shows that when there are stable resources, the care of union members and workers by the Trade Union organization is not only limited to timely support, but also long-term and in-depth.
Activities such as supporting Tet, caring for union members in difficult circumstances, organizing dialogues, legal advice or improving spiritual life... are only truly practical, creating an impression, and bringing results when there are strong enough financial resources to operate.
When resources are strong enough and used in the right direction, this funding has and will help the Trade Union meet the needs of workers, starting from very small but timely support, to large-scale and widespread programs.
However, there is a reality to admit that currently, the collection of Trade Union funds, especially in the non-state sector, still faces many difficulties. The rate of revenue loss is still high, and the situation of late payment and evasion of payment continues to occur in many places.
This more or less directly affects the ability of the Trade Union organization to care for workers. Because, if each expense is not paid in full and correctly, it means that a part of the care resources is lacking. Programs may have to be narrowed in scale, support may come later, and even some legitimate needs of workers are not met in time.
To solve this problem, a synchronous approach is clearly needed. First of all, raising businesses' awareness of the responsibility to pay trade union dues.
Along with that is close coordination between management agencies such as tax and social insurance to manage revenue more effectively. Strengthening inspection and handling of violations needs to be implemented seriously, but at the same time must be accompanied by solutions to support businesses to overcome difficulties, creating consensus instead of just imposing.
Finally, trade union funds are an effective tool to build trust. And that trust is what keeps workers for a long time, creating a connection not only with the Trade Union organization, but also with the business and the working environment that they are contributing to every day.
