On October 1, Quang Tri General Hospital confirmed that it had just saved the life of a patient with severe cerebral hemorrhage.
Previously, on September 30, patient H.D.T (35 years old, residing in Quang Tri ward) was admitted to the Emergency Resuscitation Department in a deep coma, a very critical condition.
The imaging diagnosis showed that the patient had a spreading endorsed thrombosis due to a large-sized appendicitis - varicose vein (AVM), causing compression of brain tissue and pushing the mediastinal displacement.
In this situation, the red alert procedure was activated. During the 3 hours of stressful surgery, doctors in the Neurosurgery Department opened the skull, stopped the bleeding, and removed the hematoma to release the compression. After surgery, the patient continued to be actively treated at the Intensive Care - Anti-Poison Department.
According to the hospital, this success is the result of synchronous coordination between 5 specialties: Emergency resuscitation, Anesthesia and Resuscitation, Neurosurgery, Intensive Resuscitation - Anti-Poisoning and DSA-Inner Cardiovascular Unit. Thanks to the prediction of being able to survive on plants or being severely paralyzed, the patient now has only a slight weak hand.
Doctors said that this is one of the rare cases of complex cerebral aneurysms, requiring high techniques and interdisciplinary coordination to save the patient's life.
