Patient dies of dengue fever after treatment at home

Dak Lak - The province continues to record 1 more patient death due to dengue fever.

On October 17, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) of Dak Lak province informed that the province had just recorded the third death due to dengue fever.

The patient is N.T.T (born in 1976, residing in Cu Pong commune, Krong Buk district, Dak Lak province).

The patient’s family said that on October 9, the patient had symptoms of a high fever and fatigue. At home, the patient took an unknown medicine, but the illness did not improve.

On October 10, the patient went to a medical facility for examination and was prescribed medication to monitor himself at home. On October 13, the patient felt very tired so his family took him to Thien Hanh General Hospital for examination and treatment.

At 8:00 p.m. on October 14, the patient was transferred to the Central Highlands General Hospital for further treatment with a diagnosis of dengue shock syndrome. By October 16, the patient's condition worsened and he died.

Immediately after recording the death, Dak Lak CDC deployed measures to inspect, handle environmental sanitation, and spray chemicals to kill mosquitoes where the patient lived.
