Tightening emergency care, mobilizing supplies and medicine
According to the forecast of the meteorological agency, storm Wipha is a storm of strong intensity, wide range of influence, with the potential risk of causing prolonged heavy rain, strong gusts of wind and flooding in many coastal areas of the Northern Delta, including Hai Phong City.
In this situation, Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital has quickly activated disaster response plans according to the "4 on-site" motto, while increasing 24/7 duty in key departments and rooms.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Master Nguyen Duc Hoat - Deputy Director of Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital - said: "As soon as there was a warning about the situation of storm No. 3, the hospital's Board of Directors directed the review of the entire infrastructure system, re-examination of generators, drainage systems, roofs, premises... to be ready to respond to complex storm situations.
At the same time, we have proactively arranged enough human resources to ensure emergency and intensive care, inpatient treatment and paraclinical departments.
In addition, the system of medicines, medical supplies, specialized equipment and logistics plans are reviewed and supplemented in a timely manner, ensuring adequate service for medical examination and treatment needs in harsh weather conditions.
Logistics such as food, clean water, electrical safety... have also been strengthened, ensuring good service for both patients and medical staff who have to stay in hospital for a long time due to the impact of storms and floods.
Despite unfavorable weather, the hospital still maintains normal reception, examination, monitoring and treatment for emergency and inpatient patients. Departments and rooms coordinate closely to ensure the treatment chain is not interrupted, while providing maximum support for patients and their families, especially during heavy rains and difficult travel times.

Sending health recommendations to people in affected areas
Not only focusing on internal medicine activities, Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital also shows responsibility to the community by proactively making useful recommendations to help people protect their health in extreme weather conditions.
Master Nguyen Duc Hoat shared: Stormy weather often comes with the risk of infection, injury, cold, especially affecting the elderly, children, and people with underlying diseases. To contribute to preventing health risks, we recommend that people should limit going out if not really necessary during heavy rain and strong winds; always bring personal medicine prescribed by a doctor, especially for people who are being treated for chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular disease".
In addition, the hospital reminds people to keep their bodies warm, avoid getting wet from rain - especially for vulnerable groups; regularly monitor weather forecast information from official sources, and seriously implement instructions on natural disaster prevention and control from authorities.
"If unusual symptoms such as high fever, chest pain, shortness of breath, prolonged fatigue appear, etc., people need to quickly go to the nearest medical facility for timely examination, not self-treat at home" - the Deputy Director of the Hospital emphasized.
Currently, Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital is effectively operating both facilities (No. 1, Nha Thuong Street, Le Chan Ward and Facility 2 in Cai Tat Residential Group, An Hai Ward, Hai Phong City), ensuring readiness to receive patients in all weather conditions.
With the spirit of proactiveness - caution - flexibility, the hospital affirms to always accompany the people of Hai Phong City in health care, even in the most difficult times.
