On January 18, news from Khanh Hoa General Hospital said that the Center for Orthopedics and Burns has received 15 cases of accidents related to homemade firecrackers, mainly teenagers.
Many of these cases left serious injuries, long-term effects on health and life. Most recently, the patient is D.A.T (15 years old, residing in Cam Lam, Khanh Hoa), currently a student.
When admitted to the hospital, the patient suffered complex crushed injuries to his left hand. Immediately after that, doctors from the Center for Orthopedics and Burns performed emergency surgery, cutting off the lesion, combining bone and shaping amputations, in order to maximize functional preservation for the patient.
According to information from the family, before the accident, T researched and made firecrackers at home. During testing, the firecracker suddenly exploded, causing serious injuries to his hand.
Doctors said that this is a dangerous accident, with the risk of leaving serious sequelae, greatly affecting the patient's ability to work and live in the future.
From the actual treatment, BSCKII Pham Dinh Thanh - Deputy Director of the Center for Trauma and Orthopedics - Burns (Khanh Hoa General Hospital) said that in the month before the Lunar New Year, the number of accidents caused by homemade firecrackers tended to increase year by year.
Faced with the above situation, doctors recommend that parents should strengthen management, education and remind their children to absolutely not arbitrarily make and use firecrackers or explosives.
These acts not only violate the law but also pose a risk of serious accidents, even life-threatening.
