This is a public general hospital using the existing infrastructure of the Can Gio District Medical Center (old) managed by Tu Du Hospital (operating according to the model of facility 2) closely linked with many leading general and specialized hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City to become a type of general hospital, serving people living and working in Can Gio and neighboring areas.
A representative of the Department of Health said that Can Gio is a coastal area, where people are still having difficulty accessing high-quality healthcare services, and Can Gio is also in the process of developing a marine economy, tourism, and seaports. The early establishment of a high-quality general hospital here is not only an investment in health care to ensure social security but also has the meaning of creating a healthcare infrastructure to serve socio-economic development, attracting experts and residents.
Previously, on May 8, 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued Decision No. 1564 on the Project "Strengthening, improving capacity and developing health care in Can Gio district to 2030, with a vision to 2045", aiming to consolidate, enhance and develop capacity, quality, and ability to provide health services to meet the needs of protection, care, and improving health for people living and working in Can Gio district.
