Why should you make turmeric pickles?
Turmeric pickle is one of the easiest pickles to make. It is healthy and perfect for winter menus as it is sour, sweet, spicy and crunchy.
Cooking is a clever way to incorporate turmeric into your daily diet. Turmeric is rich in antioxidants and is a great source of vitamin C. It also has anti-inflammatory properties, is good for the skin, digestive system, helps treat respiratory problems and boosts the immune system.
How to make turmeric pickles
Ingredient:
- 250 grams of raw turmeric
- Salt to taste
- 3 lemons
- Ginger to taste
- A pinch of green chili
Step 1: First, wash and clean the raw turmeric.
Step 2: After washing, you need to peel the turmeric and cut it into small pieces. You can also slice the turmeric into sticks. For ginger, the preparation is similar to turmeric.
Step 3: Squeeze 3 lemons into a separate bowl, paying attention to the amount of lemon juice needed, about 70ml.
Step 4: Take a bowl and add all the ingredients such as fresh turmeric, ginger, lemon juice, salt and halved green chillies into the bowl and mix well. Note that you need to mix until the lemon and salt cover all the ingredients evenly, this will help preserve the pickles for a longer time.
Step 5: From the bowl, transfer the pickles to a clean glass or ceramic jar. Make sure the jar is completely dry before transferring the pickles to avoid mold and spoilage.
Step 6: Now, leave the pickles in the refrigerator for about a week.
Step 7: After 1 week, take out the pickles and enjoy. This dish can be stored in the refrigerator for about 2 months.
