Turmeric milk is a drink made from milk combined with turmeric powder and some spices such as ginger, cinnamon, black pepper.

Not only does it have a characteristic flavor, this drink is also chosen by many people because it contains antioxidant compounds that are beneficial for health.

Turmeric has long been a familiar spice in Asian cuisine. The prominent ingredient of turmeric is curcumin - an active ingredient known for its antioxidant properties, which contributes to protecting cells from the effects of free radicals and oxidative stress.

Antioxidants play an important role in the normal functioning of the body. Many studies show that a diet rich in antioxidants can contribute to enhancing body protection, while supporting reduced risk of some chronic diseases and infections.

In addition, many turmeric milk formulas also combine ginger and cinnamon. These two spices also contain many plant compounds with antioxidant properties, helping to increase the nutritional value of the drink.

To increase curcumin absorption, you can mix turmeric powder with unsweetened almond milk or warmed low-fat cow's milk. Many people choose to drink turmeric milk in the evening as a warm drink to help relax before bed.

How to make turmeric milk at home:

- 120 ml unsweetened milk.

- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder.

- A piece of fresh ginger minced or ground (or 1/2 teaspoon of ginger powder).

- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon powder.

- A pinch of black pepper.

- 1 teaspoon of honey or passion fruit syrup (depending on taste).

Put all ingredients in a small pot, stir well and cook until just boiling. Lower heat and continue to cook for about 10 minutes to allow the ingredients to blend and create a fragrant smell.

Then, filter through a sieve to remove sediment, pour into a cup and you can sprinkle a little cinnamon powder on top before enjoying.
