Timely rescue for fishermen stabbed in the neck by fish on Sinh Ton Dong Island

Khanh Hoa - Doctors and nurses at Sinh Ton Dong Island infirmary (Truong Sa District) provide emergency care to a fisherman whose neck was stabbed by a fish while fishing.

On the morning of June 24, Sinh Ton Dong Island Infirmary received fisherman Dang Van Tang (born in 1996, from Long Hai commune, Phu Quy district, Binh Thuan province), a crew member of fishing boat BTh 96994TS, in a state of severe injuries in the neck due to fish attacks.

In the early morning of the same day, while diving to catch fish, Mr. Tang was suddenly stabbed straight in the left neck by a fish.

After being taken to the boat and given initial first aid, the fisherman was quickly transferred to Sinh Ton Dong Island infirmary in a state of alertness but in a lot of pain and bleeding in the neck area.

Immediately after receiving the wound, doctors at the infirmary treated the wound by dilating, filtering, removing the foreign object, stopping the bleeding, giving fluids, injecting Tetanus drugs, using antibiotics and painkillers.

The patient's health is now stable, he is being monitored and continues to be actively treated at the infirmary.
