On February 25, Children's Hospital 1 informed about the health of 3 children related to the fire at a cake shop on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Cau Ong Lanh Ward, District 1.
3 pediatric patients were hospitalized in the early morning of February 24. Immediately after receiving the patients, the hospital implemented intensive treatment for the children.
In which, the 13-year-old girl was hospitalized with many scattered skin burns on both hands, along with coal dust on her face, nose and throat. After initial assessment, the child was found to be noisy, having a sore throat, black tongue, and smelly breath.
Doctors diagnosed the child with moderate burns, estimated area of about 12% due to house fire, and monitored the respiratory tract estimate. The child was given mechanical ventilation, antibiotics, fluid exchange, and a burn band. Currently, the child is conscious, on a ventilator through the endotracheal tube, and vital signs are fine.
The second case is a 16-year-old male patient admitted to the hospital in a state of alert alert perception, clean throat, and 92% SpO2 respiratory failure, with no skin burns recorded, and a chest X-ray of severe infection that spread to the left lung. Respiratory endoscopy recorded a grade III-IV airway burning.
This child was diagnosed with burns due to house fires, airway burns, and pneumonia. The child is on a ventilator through the endotracheal tube, and his respiratory and hemodynamic conditions are temporarily stable.
The third case was a 9-year-old male patient admitted to the hospital in a state of province, pink lips, and minor burns to the forearms and calves. The child was diagnosed with I-II skin burns in the forearms and legs, with an area of less than 20% due to a house fire.
The child was replaced with a bandage for care of the burns, antibiotics, pain relief and was discharged home for outpatient treatment.
As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 4:30 a.m. on February 24, a fire suddenly broke out at a cake shop on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, District 1. At the time of the fire, 8 people were trapped inside the bakery. The authorities promptly rescued all 8 people to safety.
