Hanoi - On September 16, the day care facility for the elderly at address No. 6 Gia Thuy street, Bo De ward went into operation.

On September 16, Bo De ward organized the launch ceremony of the Day Care Center for the Elderly at address No. 6 Gia Thuy street.

Attending and presenting flowers to congratulate the program were Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Health Dinh Hong Phong; Standing Deputy Secretary of Bo De Ward Party Committee Nguyen Thi Kim Dinh; Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Ward People's Committee Pham Bach Dang; and Vice Chairman of the Ward People's Committee Dao Thi Hoa.

Currently, Bo De ward has more than 140,000 people, of which the elderly have over 21,000 people, accounting for more than 15.3% of the population. This is a force that has made many contributions to the community but also poses increasingly high requirements for health care. To meet that reality, the daycare model is built focusing on 3 main contents: optimizing existing health infrastructure, comprehensive care of both physical and mental health, mobilizing the companionship of family and community.

Assessing this model, Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Health - Dinh Hong Phong said that the operation of daycare facilities has concretized Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW dated September 9, 2025 of the Politburo on breakthrough solutions to strengthen the protection, care and improvement of people's health.

The pilot daycare is expected to bring a flexible solution, close to the living conditions of the elderly as well as families.

To operate effectively, representatives of the Department of Health proposed that Bo De Ward continue to improve service quality, build a friendly and safe environment, and at the same time promote the role of mass organizations and grassroots health networks to promptly support elderly people in difficult circumstances or living alone. In the initial stage, the Ward Health Station will play a core role in expertise to serve as a basis for evaluation and gradual expansion.

With the introduction of a care point in Bo De ward, Hanoi has currently piloted the model in 6 localities including: Long Bien, Dong Da, Quoc Oai, Tay Ho, Viet Hung and Bo De. The event affirms a new step in social security policy, showing the determination of the Capital in the work of elderly health care.
