Hai Duong Department of Health has just issued a Plan to implement tetanus and diphtheria (Td) vaccination in the 2024 Expanded Immunization Program for 7-year-old children in Hai Duong province.
The subjects of vaccination are 7-year-old children living and studying in Hai Duong province who are given a booster dose of Td vaccine.
Phase 1 will start from December 14-15, vaccinating children born from January 1, 2017 to November 30, 2017. Phase 2 will start on January 25, 2025, vaccinating children born in December 2017 and children who were postponed in Phase 1.
It is expected that about 32,608 children in this age group will be vaccinated. The scope of implementation is at all commune, ward and town health stations in Hai Duong province.
Td vaccine produced by the Institute of Vaccines and Medical Biologicals (IVAC) has been licensed for circulation in Vietnam, 10 doses/vial, liquid form, the vaccine needs to be stored at a temperature of 2°C to 8°C, must not be frozen. The vaccine is issued by the Ministry of Health.
The above plan aims to increase the rate of immunity against diphtheria and tetanus in the community and proactively prevent and control epidemics, reduce the incidence and mortality rate caused by diphtheria and tetanus in Hai Duong. The goal is for over 90% of 7-year-old children to receive 1 dose of tetanus and diphtheria (Td) vaccine at the commune, ward and town level, ensuring safety and quality of vaccination according to Government regulations.
