Thai Nguyen province has 9 district-level administrative units and 172 commune-level administrative units after the arrangement from December 1, 2024.

The National Assembly Standing Committee has just issued Resolution No. 1240/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units of Thai Nguyen province for the 2023-2025 period.

Accordingly, the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in Dai Tu district is as follows:

Establish Van Phu commune on the basis of merging the entire natural area of ​​8.48 km2, population of 4,102 people of Van Tho commune and the entire natural area of ​​18.19 km2, population of 8,916 people of Ky Phu commune.

After its establishment, Van Phu commune had a natural area of ​​26.67 km2 and a population of 13,018 people.

Adjust a part of the natural area of ​​3.01 km2 and the population of 1,565 people of Na Mao commune to merge into Phu Xuyen commune. After adjustment, Phu Xuyen commune has a natural area of ​​25.93 km2 and a population of 9,542 people.

Merge the entire natural area of ​​6.32 km2 and population of 2,169 people of Na Mao commune after adjustment according to regulations into Phu Cuong commune. After merging, Phu Cuong commune has a natural area of ​​22.60 km2 and a population of 7,664 people.

After the arrangement, Dai Tu district has 27 commune-level administrative units, including 25 communes and 2 towns.

Arrange the commune-level administrative units of Dong Hy district as follows:

Merge the entire natural area of ​​20.69 km2 and population of 5,802 people of Tan Loi commune into Trai Cau town. After merging, Trai Cau town has a natural area of ​​27.03 km2 and a population of 10,031 people.

After the arrangement, Dong Hy district has 14 commune-level administrative units, including 11 communes and 3 towns.

Arrange the commune-level administrative units of Dinh Hoa district as follows:

Merge the entire natural area of ​​9.55 km2 and population of 4,824 people of Bao Cuong commune into Cho Chu town. After merging, Cho Chu town has a natural area of ​​13.99 km2 and a population of 12,007 people.

After the arrangement, Dinh Hoa district has 22 commune-level administrative units, including 21 communes and 1 town.

Arrange the commune-level administrative units of Phu Luong district as follows:

Adjust a part of the natural area of ​​14.90 km2, population of 6,042 people of Phan Me commune to merge into Giang Tien town. After adjustment, Giang Tien town has a natural area of ​​18.67 km2 and population of 10,185 people.

Merge the entire natural area of ​​6.29 km2 and population of 5,404 people of Phan Me commune after adjustment according to the provisions at Point a of this Clause into Du town. After merging, Du town has a natural area of ​​15.65 km2 and a population of 15,092 people.

After the arrangement, Phu Luong district has 14 commune-level administrative units, including 12 communes and 02 towns.

After rearranging commune-level administrative units, Thai Nguyen province has 9 district-level administrative units, including 6 districts and 3 cities; 172 commune-level administrative units, including 121 communes, 41 wards and 10 towns.

This Resolution comes into force from December 1, 2024.
