On June 20, at Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the Vietnam Military-Civilian Medical Association held a launching ceremony for the Representative Office in Dak Lak province. At the same time, the two units jointly organized a scientific workshop with the theme: "Medicinal resources in the Central Highlands - Current situation and trends".
The event marked a new step in the development of strengthening coordination between the health, defense and training facilities in the region.

Mr. Pham Nhu Nam - Head of the Office of the Vietnam Medical Association in Dak Lak commented: "The unit will be established to become a unit connecting forces to better serve the health care of the people, especially in remote areas and border areas of the Central Highlands".
Within the framework of the event, the scientific conference gathered more than 150 delegates and experts from the Ministry of Health, the Department of Management of Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy, universities, etc.

The presentations revolved around four key contents. Including the current situation and policies for developing traditional medicine in Vietnam; sustainable development solutions for Central Highlands medicinal herbs; preservation, cultivation and application of medicinal plants in the community.
Improve the quality of research and training of heritage human resources. Delegates also emphasized the strategic role of indigenous medicinal herbs, associated with the goal of developing a green economy and preserving biodiversity.
Nearly 80 students of Buon Ma Thuot University of Medicine and Pharmacy participated in supporting events, exchanging academic experiences and learning about medicinal products from cultivation and processing models of the Institute of Applied Biomedicine Research and partners.
