    Hypoglycemic effects: Some studies show that periwinkle extract may help lower blood sugar levels in people with diabetes.

    Periwinkle can be used as a medicinal herb by making a decoction, cooking it into a liquid extract, or applying it to the skin. The best oral dose is not >20g of dried periwinkle/day.

    Periwinkle can cause some side effects like nausea, vomiting and diarrhea if used in excess. Therefore, it is necessary to consult a medical professional before using it.
