Tips for eating well for joints, improving cardiovascular health

Thanh Thanh |

Food.NDTV offers tips on eating well for joints and improving heart health.

To improve joint health, you should develop an anti-inflammatory diet, especially for patients with arthritis. Eating anti-inflammatory foods can help control inflammation, reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, stroke, cancer and heart attack.

Choose foods like blueberries, cherries, spinach, kale, broccoli, nuts and fatty fish like salmon, mackerel, tuna. Avoid soft drinks, chips, fried foods, processed foods, red meat.

You can also cook at home with foods low in fat, carbohydrates and ensure a moderate amount of protein.

Make sure you eat well and maintain an optimal weight, as obesity can put pressure on weight-bearing joints. Losing weight can help reduce your risk of developing osteoarthritis in the knees and hips, which is common in rheumatoid arthritis.

Also, cut down on sugar because it is not good for your health. Also, take extra precautions if you have diabetes and avoid sugary foods. Use cooking oils that are free of trans fats.

Arthritis causes pain, swelling, stiffness, and limited range of motion. It can affect people of all ages. People with arthritis should adopt healthy lifestyle choices to manage pain, inflammation, and perform daily tasks without difficulty.
