On November 22, the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City organized a scientific conference on infectious diseases and public health issues after the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Vu Trung - Director of the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought many lessons and experiences. Among them, there is early detection and close monitoring from the beginning of the epidemic. At the same time, there is a quick, timely and accurate response in epidemic prevention work.
In recent times, some diseases such as respiratory, digestive and vaccine-preventable diseases have fluctuated. Migration, urbanization, globalization as well as people's awareness are factors that contribute to the impact of disease.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Vu Trung emphasized that the work of preventing infectious diseases must be done early and regularly. That is, prevention must be done from the early stages, before the disease appears, when the first case is detected, and timely response measures must be taken.
In addition, public awareness needs to be raised. Timely support is needed for those working in infectious disease prevention, especially preventive medicine.
The scientific conference includes reports related to laboratory management, non-communicable diseases and other public health issues; emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, HIV/STIs; antibiotics, vaccines.
